This seminar deals with the common problems associated with flat and low pitch roofing, and looks at the necessary information that must be considered before specification in both new build and refurbishment projects. Starting with a review of the construction methods available, the seminar looks at the materials commonly used and then considers how the material specified can reduce, or even eliminate, some of the common problems associated with flat roofs.

3. Seminar: Roof Ventilation – Practical Solutions

This seminar deals with the practicalities of providing ventilation in roof spaces. This involves more than ensuring that “adequate provision is made to prevent excessive condensation” as is required by Part F2 of the Building Regulations. In addition to showing how to calculate ventilation requirements this seminar also considers products and methods that save time and skills, and thus cost, on site.

The obligations that CDM regulations place on architects and designers are considered in dealing with the changes that membership of the European Community is bringing to fire compliance, non-fragility and other regulatory requirements.
