Modular Building Unit

The development work for the concept of a GRP (FRP) Building Unit, based upon a modular construction system took an important step forward recently with the assembly of the first prototype unit at the company's factory at Inverness.

The potential uses for this building unit are viewed as:-

• Medium term shelter style accommodation
• Medical station
• Site management
• Trading facility
• Educational facility
• Food store, animal or human
• General storage

The units are lightweight, do not require permanent foundations and they're thermally efficient with a minimum ten year service life. The design work continues and it is envisaged that these buildings will be put into commercial production during the early part of 2008.

The group has lodged a number of patent applications involved with the system.
